KOTA KINABALU: The Youth chief of Parti Warisan Sabah was at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office here Monday to be interviewed over the alleged misappropriation of government funds meant for rural projects in Sabah.

Datuk Aziz Jamman arrived at the MACC at about 10.20am accompanied by his wife. Outside the MACC office were several Warisan members.

Aziz was called up by the MACC late Sunday and he presented himself at the office at about 10.30pm. He left 15 minutes later after he was told he was required to come back on Monday to give a statement.

Aziz is the nephew of Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal. The former Semporna Umno youth chief left the party in 2015 to join Warisan.

The commission is investigating how RM1.5bil was siphoned from a total of RM7.5bil funds allocated for rural projects in Sabah over the past six years.
