NEW DELHI: South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has slashed the price of its budget smartphones. The company has slashed the price of its Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime in India. Both the smartphones were launched in September last year. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime which was launched at Rs 18,790 is now available at Rs 14,900, while the Galaxy J5 Prime is selling at Rs 12,990 after the price cut of Rs 1,800.
Last month the company also announced that it is rolling out Android Nougat update for the Galaxy J7 Prime. The update weighs 1.09GB and bring features like improved notification panel, split screen, better battery optimisations, ability to reply from notifications and fresh Samsung UI which is seen in its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8. The report also suggests that the device should have minimum charge of 50% and 2GB of free space in order to install the update.
