SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today attended the state-level Warriors' Day celebration at the Memorial here.
Sultan Sharafuddin was accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, and Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari.
Also present were 11th Brigade commander Brig Gen Dr Mohd Radzi Abdul Hamid and Selangor Police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor.
His Royal Highness then inspected a guard-of-honour mounted by 115 Royal Malaysian Navy officers and personnel.
This was followed by the recitation of a poem titled 'Pahlawanku' by ASP Pathu Rahman Esa from the Royal Malaysia Police and Lt Siti Norashikin Yusof from the Malaysian Armed Forces.
Sultan Sharafuddin later laid a wreath at the Memorial to honour those who died defending the country's sovereignty. Tengku Amir, Amirudin, Mohd Radzi and Mazlan also laid wreaths.
The 'Rouse' was then sounded, during which the Jalur Gemilang was raised as a sign of motivation to members of the police and armed forces to continue defending the sovereignty and security of the country.
