Workers Party adviser Ahmad Awang says PAS splinter party's representatives from Gabungan Harapan Baharu were voted in as Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, August 31, 2015.It is PAS lawmakers who must resign their positions as elected representatives for causing the break-up of Pakatan Rakyat, the adviser of the Workers Party, Ahmad Awang said today.

He was responding to calls that PAS MPs and state representatives must resign as they won their seats on the Islamist party’s ticket.

Ahmad Awang said the PAS splinter party's, Gabungan Harapan Baharu (GHB or New Hope Movement) representatives were largely voted in by those who were drawn to the Pakatan Rakyat coalition and the programmes it represented.

"In fact, these representatives, with us, are trying to re-establish what was destroyed when Pakatan Rakyat was dissolved.

"It is those who had worked towards the collapse of Pakatan Rakyat who should resign from their positions because they had worked against the interests of PR.” – August 31, 2015.
