PETALING JAYA: DRB-Hicom Bhd’s group director of organisational support Datuk Mohamed Hazlan Mohamed Hussain is the new president and group CEO of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.
He will succeed Masnizam Hisham whose tenure ended on September 2, after a eight month stint.
Prior to his appointment, Mohamed Hazlan served as head of several departments in DRB-Hicom. He was also the COO of RapidKL and POS Malaysia Bhd’s Strategic Unit and the general manager of Plus Expressways Operations segment.
A civil engineering graduate from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, he is experienced in sectors such as public transportation, oil and gas, postal service and highways.
In announcing his appointment, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said Mohamed Hazlan is tasked with setting a new direction for Prasarana to enhance operations as well as to execute the restructuring process and improve financial efficiency of the company along with the Finance Ministry and Transport Ministry.
Prasarana recorded a revenue of RM846 million and a net loss of RM2.46 billion for FY17.
