KOTA BARU: A PAS deputy commissioner is suggesting the party holds a special muktamar for grassroots to decide if they should seek political cooperation with Barisan Nasional.
Dr Rosli Allani Abdul Kadir, from the Kota Baru PAS division, also said the party should get members' consensus on the Syura Council's decision to sever ties with former Pakatan Rakyat ally DAP.
"The first issue is if members want to continue with Pakatan and we should hear their thoughts on the Syura Council's decision to sever ties with DAP.
"The second pertinent issue is to gauge members' acceptance to a new Tahaluf Siyasi (political pact) with parties like Umno or BN," he said in a press statement Monday.
Dr Rosli said Gabungan Harapan Baru (GHB), mainly made up of ousted progressives from PAS, should also be a topic of discussion at the special muktamar.
He added the inception of GHB had affected the credibility of top PAS leaders, an issue which could not be swept under the carpet.
Dr Rosli is presently deputy to Datuk Wan Rahim Wan Abdullah, the chairman of Kelantan GHB.
It was reported that GHB will be officially registered as a political party come September.
