Sarawak PAS commissioner Jofrie Jaraie said the party would field candidates in Petra Jaya, Samarahan, Batang Sadong, Batang Lupar and Sibuti.
“The announcement of the names of the candidates is expected to be made in Kuching City on Saturday April 21,” he told Bernama.
PAS is expected to lock horns with Barisan Nasional and Parti Amanah Negara of Pakatan Harapan in Samarahan, Batang Lupar and Batang Sadong and face BN and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidates in the Petra Jaya and Sibuti seats.
All the seats are BN strongholds, represented by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) before the dissolution of the 13th Parliament. For the record, in GE13, PAS contested five parliamentary seats in Sarawak but its candidates were defeated in all.
