KUALA LUMPUR: The national junior wushu squad continued their commendable performance by adding a silver and a bronze medal on the second day of the 2018 FISU World University Wushu Championship in Macau, today.
Malaysia who collected a bronze in the opening day yesterday, claimed a silver medal via Khaw Jun Lim in the men's Changquan event with 9.45 points in the tournament at Macau Forum, according to the tournament website, www.wushuwuc2018.com.
Li Wangzhen of China won the gold medal by amassing 9.52 points while Sergei Badrutdinov of Russia, pulled off a surprise by securing the bronze medal with 9.35 points.
Aggie Cheah Ruey Shin delivered a second bronze medal for Malaysia in the women's Changquan event after collecting 9.20 points.
Natalie Chriselda Tanasa of Indonesia won the gold medal with 9.30 points while Lin Yi-Ping of Taiwan settled for silver with 9.24 points.
Malaysia will continue the medal hunt in four events – Qiangshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian and Daoshu – on the final day of the tournament, tomorrow.
