KUALA LUMPUR: The nationwide 'Walk Stop Talk: Six Hours Quarter Million Messages' programme was held today to disseminate anti-corruption messages among members of the public.

Organised by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education (IPGM) and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the programme aimed to obtain 250,000 signatures from members of the public in the fight against corruption, and the feat would be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records.

In a joint statement issued today, MACC and IPGM said 1,000 participants including MACC officers and educators from 27 IPGM campuses have been simultaneously mobilised to 262 locations from 9am to 3pm to distribute 250,000 brochures containing anti-corruption information to members of the public.

"At the same time, participants also obtained signatures as a sign of support towards this initiative," the statement said.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail officiated the closing ceremony of this programme at the Dataran DBKL at 4pm today and was accompanied by MACC chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull.
