After two pregnancies, Penelope Cruz is now revealing her post-baby weight loss secrets. From why she believes in breastfeeding for its multiple benefits to her food favorites, Penelope shared her tips and appreciation for her health, reported Contact Music on November 30.
''I breastfed my son for 13 months and I plan to do at least the same with my daughter," said Penelope.
"That's an amazing thing for babies, but it's also really good for the mother because it regulates your body again after pregnancy," she added, noting that she appreciates her health.
''I think I'm very lucky that I can breastfeed my children because sometimes even if a woman wants to, she can't."
In addition to breastfeeding, Penelope is eating ''really healthily.'' Although she calls it a "lot" of food, the Mayo Clinic says that women who breastfeed should consume about an additional 400 to 500 calories a day.
As for her diet specifics, Penelope is a vegetarian, according to People magazine. She chose a plant-based diet after filming "All the Pretty Horses," where animals played a prominent role.
“I love Spanish food. My diet is the Mediterranean diet, which is good food. I eat well,” Penelope told the Daily Mirror.
“I love ballet and it’s a little boring for me to go to the gym because I’m used to the dancing discipline — it’s really hard but much more fun," added Penelope.
