Remains of army officer to arrive on Wednesday

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of Capt Hasman Hussin (pic), who died after the vehicle he was travelling in was swept away by flood waters in Missouri, the United States, is expected to arrive in Malaysia on Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Army Headquarters here, Capt Hasman's remains are expected to be flown on a China Airlines flight on Jan 5 at about 12.20am US time (1.20pm Malaysian time) and arrive on Jan 6 at 1.15pm local time.

The aircraft will fly via Taipei and will transit for three hours, it said.

Capt Hasman, 33, who was attending a course at Fort Leonard Wood from Oct 1, was reported missing on Dec 26 after the vehicle he was travelling in together with his college mates was swept away by flood waters in Missouri.
