KUALA LUMPUR: The police have pledged their commitment in carrying out their duties following the appointment of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Home Minister.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police congratulated Muhyiddin on his appointment, which was announced by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Saturday.
"We are committed to carrying out our duties and we will uphold the honour of the Home Ministry under his (Muhyiddin) leadership," he said today.
On Saturday, Dr Mahathir named Muhyiddin as Home Minister following a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at Menara Yayasan Selangor.
Aside from Muhyiddin, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was named Finance Minister and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu was appointed as Defence Minister.
