AT LEAST six people have been killed and more 150 people injured in a major train crash in Pakistan.
Officials revealed the Awam Express collided with a freight train near Multan, in northern Pakistan as it made it's way to the country's biggest city, Karachi.
At least four carriages were sent flying off the track following the crash with the freight train, which was on the track “without schedule”, according to local reports.
Railway official Saima Bashir confirmed the accident and said suspected negligence on the part of passenger train engineer may have caused the accident.
She revealed the freight train had stopped so the driver could remove the body of a man who had been crushed to death while crossing the railway track.
