Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition

It’s never too early to start planning for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, and with next year’s dates already announced as April 6-10, 2014 and a host of new initiatives that will open the doors of fashion week to the general public, it’s already time to get excited, writes Shannon Gaitz.

Next year, the focus is on the consumer, with the launch of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition and MBFashionWeek.com making collections easier to view and buy than ever before.

The new ventures are based on this year’s significant figures where streaming was viewed in 95 countries with an average viewing time of 21 minutes. This indicated that the runway is no longer a place for just industry professionals, the average consumer is just as obsessed and avenues have been created to fuel those fires.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia designers will have the opportunity to create a capsule collection for sale exclusively on this platform where consumers can purchase via the live stream or direct from the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition. This means customers can instantly buy their favourite styles while watching them online on the runway, months before they hit stores.

The Weekend Edition of the show will display the very best from MBFWA with hair and beauty tutorials, trend showcases and shopping opportunities taking the consumer so deep into Fashion Week it’s practically behind the scenes. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Weekend Edition will be held at Carriageworks in Eveleigh, Sydney from April 12-13, 2014.

“It’s exciting to see Sydney and Australia pioneering new initiatives that will assist in creating even more opportunities for local designers,” said Andrew Stoner MP, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade & Investment. “The new Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition will generate consumer interest by leveraging the buzz and excitement that is generated from showing at a fashion event of this global scale.”

With the focus on retail and ample opportunities to shop, MBFWA continues to innovate as Sydney’s pinnacle fashion event.

Tickets for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition are strictly limited and will go sale December 9, 2013 via MBFWeekendEd.com.au.
