Responding to a statement made by Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang, the anti-graft body said only individuals who have been convicted of corruption in court would be listed in the database.

“The ‘name and shame’ database was introduced to list the names of people who have been found guilty in corruption-related cases, not those who are being investigated,” MACC explained in a statement.

Lim had suggested that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s name be listed in the database because of the RM2.6bil scandal, which had been subjected to an investigation by the MACC and the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
