Chevrolet is displaying an updated global Colorado at the 2013 Thailand International Motor Expo. A slew of updates bring the Colorado into the 2014 model year, including a new, more powerful Duramax engine and Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system. Note, this truck isn’t the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado that was just revealed in Los Angeles for the United States and Canada.
The new 2.8L Duramax turbo diesel will deliver 200 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, making the Colorado one of the most powerful trucks in its class. As expected, the new engine is more fuel efficient and will provide greater towing and payload capacities. The 2.5L Duramax engine remains an option, and has been updated to produce 163 horsepower and 280 lb-ft.
Both the 2.5 and 2.8 engines come paired to an all new, 6-speed manual transmission. The HydraMatic 6-speed auto remains unchanged.
As mentioned, the Colorado sees the addition of Chevrolet’s MyLink Infotainment system as well as a Display Information Cluster (DIC), an LCD screen in the center of the drivers gauge cluster that displays fuel economy figures and other information. Rear park assist is also now an option.
The 2014 Chevrolet Colorado will start at 570,000 RM (16,5134.75 USD) in Thailand.
