KOTA KINABALU: A fisherman had a shock of his life when he saw a semi-naked body floating out at sea in Sandakan.
The man had just left the shore at about 7am on Jan 1, when he saw a body, clad in shorts and a bra, floating midway out at sea.
Sandakan district police chief Assist Comm Zabidi Mohd Zain said a team of marine police brought the body back to the jetty after receiving a call from the fisherman.
He said the victim, believed to be a woman in her 20s, was found with no visible injuries.
ACP Zabidi said the victim was brought to the district hospital at about 1.25pm for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
He also urged anyone with missing relatives to contact the police or help identify the victim.
