Long Island filmmakers will present a one-time-old double feature event to raise money for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The event will deliver an off-kilter holiday movie experience for comedy-horror fans for a good cause. For Peter Bune, member of The Ghouligans!, the effects of the typhoon hit close to home.
“I still have family in the Philippines, and they were directly affected by Typhoon Haiyan,” Bune said in a press statement. “Many people may have survived, but they were still left with nothing. The Ghouligans! are really lucky to have a big, passionate fan base, so it’s great to see everyone coming together to give back for a good cause.”
Tickets are $15 at the door, and all proceeds from the event will go to typhoon survivors in Philippines SMAHE (Sons and Sisters of Mary and Adorers of the Holy Eucharist), an orphanage, and farm villages in the Visayan Islands.
