The second installment in the wildly popular “Hunger Games” series took in a scorching $75 million in its second weekend, a Thanksgiving record, bringing its total domestic haul to $297 million. The sequel took in $110.2 million in ticket sales from Wednesday to Sunday.
The animated Disney retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s “Snow Queen” earned $67 million in its opening weekend and $93 million from Wednesday to Sunday.
“Thor: The Dark World,” which was knocked out of the No. 1 slot by “Fire” last week, slipped to third with $11.1 million.
