Chow to be sworn in as Penang CM

GEORGE TOWN: Chow Kon Yeow has been officially announced as the next chief minister of Penang.

He will succeed Lim Guan Eng, who has been appointed Finance Minister.

In a packed press conference today, Lim said Chow would become the state's fifth chief minister at a swearing-in ceremony to be held at Seri Mutiara, the official residence of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas, tomorrow.

He said a ceramah would also be held in the Esplanade tomorrow night to introduce Chow as the new chief minister.

"I will always miss Penang. Without the people's support, I will not be there," he said.
