General Motors has recently revealed that the company is considering an off-road inspired Chevrolet Colorado.

Speaking to Automotive News, GM’s Executive Chief Engineer of Global Full-size and Midsize Trucks Jeff Luke said that the dealers already have been asking for an off-road model and so the company is now considering it. While Chevrolet has already announced its plans to offer a Z71 variant, Luke clarified that it was not quite an all-terrain model.

Luke’s sentiments were further confirmed by GM North America President Mark Reuss who also stated that an off-road variant absolutely a possibility. He was coy on giving further info about the model but said that the Colorado had all kinds of opportunity for accessorization and powertrain variants.

There is no detail available as of now on what an off-road variant would be like but Chevrolet has previously offered an S-10 ZR2 with increased ride height, stronger axles and off-road tires. Well the details are limited but sounds pretty good though we will have to wait for some more time till we hear something else about the off-road inspired variant from the company.
