The screen of this 65-inch LG OLED TV rolls up into its base. — Handout via AFPLAS VEGAS, Jan 9 — South Korean manufacturer LG is causing a stir in Las Vegas with some exceptional and unusual TVs in store for CES 2018, including one model with a screen that rolls up into its base when not in use — a world first!
LG has unveiled a 65-inch Ultra-High-Definition OLED TV with a flexible display that rolls up into its base. It will be on show at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show from today. Although still a prototype, this surprising TV could become a retail model by 2020, shaking up the TV market in spite of its inevitably high price tag. The roll-up screen makes the TV particularly discreet — hidden away among the furniture when not in use, or only rolled out onto a wall when switched on.
