It was learnt that the postponement was due to several unresolved matters regarding the candidates for the state’s 10 parliament and 18 state seats.

This is the second time that Johor PPBM has postponed the party’s state candidates’ list. The first was on Sunday.

“The announcement was supposed to be made tonight as the list is 99 per cent complete.

“However, we decided to postpone it and the official announcement for both parliament and state seats will be made by PPBM chairman Tun Mahathir Mohamad in Pagoh on April 19,” said Johor PPBM secretary Datuk Osman Sapian when met outside the party’s state headquarters tonight.

Osman, who is also Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary, revealed that the candidates’ list will consist of the party’s four women candidates, two youth candidates, seven former Umno candidates and the rest are newcomers.

Earlier, more than 300 PPBM members turned-up at the announcement event as early as 8.30pm.

By 10pm, Johor PPBM media director Mohd Solihan Badri came out of the meeting to inform those present that the candidates’ announcement has been postponed.

Johor PPBM will contest 10 out of the 26 parliament seats and 18 out of 56 state seats from 56 in Johor.
