PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar has began his first day of work as the new Chief Secretary to the government.
Dr Ismail, 58, arrived at the Office of Chief Secretary to the Government and clocked in at 7.25am.
In a short briefing, Dr Ismail pledged to always uphold the integrity and the principle of righteousness in discharging his duties as the Chief Secretary to the government.
He also expressed his determination to strengthen the civil service's delivery system by prioritising on cost management that is more efficient and effective.
Earlier, former Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa clocked out for the last time today.
His contract of service as the KSN ended yesterday after serving for six years.
