JOHOR BAHRU: A police officer and six personnel who allegedly let their guard down at an entertainment centre in Muar near here, have been transferred to other departments with immediate effect.
Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said disciplinary action was taken on the policemen duly after police headquarters received information about the incident.
“The police cannot compromise on any disciplinary breach and will act sternly on those involved,” he said in a statement here yesterday.
Khalil said all police officers and personnel must live up to the integrity required of them in upholding the image of the police force as the country’s main law enforcers.
Khalil was commenting on a video which went viral on Facebook allegedly showing the policemen believed to be from Unit D7, Muar district police headquarters, “having fun” at an entertainment centre at Pusat Perniagaan Bakri, Muar.
The nine-second recording was circulated early Sunday through the Facebook account, “Koleksi Video Viral (KVV)”.
