Has Fox found US TV's next big hit show? Since its trailer went live earlier this week, The Gifted has notched up some 31 million views across various online platforms, including 16 million on Facebook and 11 million on YouTube.
This early success is somewhat reminiscent of last year's new arrival, This is Us. Less than 10 days after being released online, the trailer for NBC's show totalled 60 million views. This success endured when the show aired, with the family drama going on to become one of the most-watched new series between September and May.
Due this fall on Fox, The Gifted is a TV show set in Marvel's X-Men universe. The show follows the Struckers, an ordinary suburban family whose lives are turned upside down when their children discover they have mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants in order to survive.
