IPOH: An electronic factory worker was detained after he was believed to have been involved in the theft of 28 Acer Aspire Switch 10 tablets estimated at RM58,800, in a raid at an apartment in Bandar Seri Botani here, last Tuesday.

Ipoh police chief ACP Mohd Ali Tamby said the 42-year-old man was picked up after the company management reported the loss from the company's store on August 17.

"During the raid a team from the Ipoh District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Department seized a tablet. Subsequently, three pieces of sales receipt were found at a mobile phone shop in Jalan Kampar, Ipoh," he said in a statement here today.

Mohd Ali said police also arrested the suspect's 30-year-old girlfriend who was believed to have been involved in the sale or purchase of the tablets and seized seven tablets from her at the district police headquarters.
