Lam said that she had tried to kill herself several times after the sexual assault.HONG KONG, Jan 11 — Eric Tsang has denied accusations that he is one of two male stars who raped actress Yammie Lam.

Yesterday, the 64-year-old Hong Kong veteran actor issued a strongly worded statement via his official Weibo account saying that he plans to pursue legal action against those who released a video naming him as one of two actors who raped Lam.

Tsang called the video “fake news” and said the footage was “falsely edited”.

This week, an old video filmed and released by the Hong Kong-based gossip magazine Next Magazine in 2013 started to make the rounds on the internet.

It showed Lam discussing how two “big brothers” in the Hong Kong entertainment industry had raped her “20 or 30 years ago”.

Lam who left show business in 2004 also said that she had tried to kill herself several times after the sexual assault.

The video, which has been viewed nearly 2.3 million times on YouTube, was originally edited to conceal the names of Lam’s alleged rapists when it was first released in 2013.

However, a new ‘unedited’ version of the video that was circulated yesterday shows the actress naming her two alleged attackers as Tsang and Alan Tang who died in 2011.

This is not the first time that Tsang has been accused of sexual misconduct.

In 1989, he was accused of inappropriate behaviour on the set of the film Fatal Vacation which he also directed.
