KUANTAN: Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah of Pakatan Harapan (PH) said a consultative council would be set up soon for the constituency.
He said the council would convey government decisions to the people and obtain the people's feedback on matters affecting them.
"The council will be bilateral in character, taking into account every view of the people and conveying to them every decision taken by the government," he said to reporters after a post-election victory feast at the Main Operations Room of the PKR Indera Mahkota Parliamentary Constituency in Balok, here, last night.
Also present were Pahang PH chairman Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman and PKR state assemblymen Sim Chon Siang (Teruntum) and Lee Chean Chung (Semambu).
Saifuddin said the council would also comprise Beserah state assemblyman Andansura Rabu of PAS, as well as 50 other members who would be divided into four important components, namely politics, government departments, NGOs and business groups.
"We have invited Andansura to join the council because he is a representative elected by the people to serve them," said Saifuddin.
Semambu and Beserah state constituencies within the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency. Teruntum is a state constituency within the Kuantan parliamentary constituency.
Saifuddin said he would keep his word to have an 'open day' every Friday in his constituency to enable the people to meet him to voice their problems.
