Company director charged with faking documents

BUTTERWORTH: A director of three construction companies has been charged with falsifying documents relating to his son's resignation as director in the companies.

M. Kajendaran, 57, was charged in the Sessions Court here with making false statements in Form 49 dated Oct 8, 2014, related to the resignation of K. Vinod Kumar, 29, as director of Motif Era Sdn Bhd, Piala Mutiara Sdn Bhd and Binwan Development Sdn Bhd.

He allegedly committed the three offences at the same time and place in the Companies Commission Malaysia (SSM) office in Seberang Jaya on Oct 27, 2014.

If convicted, the offence under Section 364(2) of the Companies Act 1965 (Act 125) carries a jail term of 10 years, RM250,000 fine, or both.

Kajendaran pleaded not guilty to the charges and Sessions judge Norhayati Mohamad Yunus granted RM10,000 bail with one surety and set Nov 8 for mention of the case.
