BUYING a new smartphone can be a costly affair so to lighten the burden Celcom Axiata Bhd has expanded its EasyPhone plan which was previously available to its postpaid users to include Xpax prepaid users.
The plan, launched in collaboration with financial service provider Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd, allows you to get a smartphone with a 24-month instalment plan for as low as RM74 per month.
There is a choice of over 30 smartphones, including the latest models from manufacturers like Samsung Electronics and Huawei.
For instance, you can get the flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 with a monthly instalment of RM214 or the Galaxy S8+ at RM235 per month.
Also, users don’t need to own a credit card to be eligible for the plan.
“Today, smartphones can cost up to RM4,000 for high-end models,” said Celcom Axiata chief marketing officer Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin.
They will also enjoy RM30 airtime every month during the 24-month instalment period.
He said Celcom sees an untapped potential because Malaysia has a huge prepaid user base.
The device protection plan, which is currently available for its postpaid users, will also be introduced to its Xpax prepaid customers in the near future.
