AirAsia down 12.7% in early trade on Tony Fernandes’ apology

PETALING JAYA: Shares of AirAsia Bhd fell as much as 47 sen or 12.7% this morning after its founder Tan Sri Tony Fernandes apologised for buckling under intense pressure from the former Barisan Nasional government.

At 11.30am, its shares were down by 11 sen or 2.97% to RM3.59 with some 42.6 million shares changing hands.

AirAsia X Bhd, however, gained 1.5 sen or 4% to 39 sen on some 26.28 million shares done.

Fernandes received flak for ferrying former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak on a Barisan Nasional-themed flight ahead of the election.
